It appears to go against common sense, but we all know that they are apparently mindless psychological phenomenon that plays a previously unrecognized role in the way people form impressions of other people.
Let’s assume you’ve just heard a REALLY juicy rumor about someone you know. It may not be true, but it’s too good to keep to you. Your first instinct is to call your friend to update him/her or go online and IM it to all your friends.
To be honest, we all have this kind of urge. But they are different kinds of gossips. Not all rumour and gossip are alike, and some can be more hurtful and damaging than others. They are also different ways to spread gossips. Even if u have a problem with someone, you don’t have to make it known to the public. What is the big deal if someone is living a good life? At the end of the day ‘he who is free from sin, let him cast the first stone’. People that publish gossip on a social network only do it to hurt someone else.
Imagine you have a piece of wood, a nail, and a hammer. Pretend the wood is a person, and the nail is a nasty rumor about that person. If you hammer in the nail, you’re obviously hurting him or her. If you then pull out the nail…well, there’s still a hole in the wood, and the damage has been done. Girls have been putting photos of guys stating that they are cunning women, while guys have been putting photos of girls stating that they are sluts. And now girls are beefing girls.
They are other ways to make people feel hurt other than destroying yours and others reputation. If you look closely, you would find that the people who spread rumour and gossip on facebook are Nigerians. Some Nigerians have forgotten what facebook is for. If forgotten, facebook is a social network where people keep up with friends old and new, upload and share unlimited amount of photos, videos, events, and also chat and learn more about the people they meet. It is not a network for beef, not a place to feel superior over another and it’s definitely not a place to revenge out of jealousy.
Nigerians are known as fraudsters. How can we change our image when we criticize each other on facebook? Have you ever asked yourselves why Nigerians are always different? Since you have been on facebook, how many times have you seen people from other nationality casting aspersion at each other? If anyone one can put their hands to say otherwise, I will apologize for ever making this statement.
Realities are always bitter, grow up and do the right thing. We all have skeletons that are best kept in our wardrobe.

I don't know who has written this, but its so true and I feel so guilty. If only people will read this and learn then I think life in general will be suitable for everyone no matter the class or status.
Indeed, this is very true. I saw the usesless comments those girls wrote on facebook. Gosh! They are so immature. I cannot believe that in this day and age, an educated person can be so ignorant. I really do hope this teach them a lesson.
Keep up the good work. (Anonymous Magazine)
